This work by Anatoliy Kryvolap reflects the search for universal harmony in the combination of color and form. The painting “The Slope” reflects the same famous scale of Anatoliy Kryvolap, which develops in all his works. In the early and mid-1990s, together with the group “Picturesque Reservation”, the artist conducted his most important experiments with color. During this period, a turning point for the country in the cultural and political sense, it was important for the artist to preserve the very nature of artistic creativity, to reflect and capture its substance. For Anatoliy Kryvolap, this substance is color, in all incredible valors, which are combined on the canvas.
Anatoliy Kryvolap was born in 1946 in Yahotyn. 1976: graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute, Faculty of Painting. From 1992 to 1995 Kryvolap was an active participant in the “Picturesque Reservation”. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
Since 1976 – a regular participant in regional and international exhibitions. The most expensive contemporary artist in Ukraine.
2011: The painting “Steppe” sold at auction Phillips de Pury & Co in New York for 98,500 USD; 2011: work “Horse. Night.” sold at auction at Phillips de Pury & Co in London, for $ 124,400. 2012: Anatoliy Kryvolap received the Shevchenko Prize in the nomination “Fine Arts”. Since 2016 he is a member of the Committee on the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine.
