The work is painted with gouache over a preparatory drawing in pencil on light brown cardboard without a ground. The color layer is thin, the painting is made mainly with large planes of dim local colors (brown, beige, yellow, purple, white). Generalization and conventionality of the image testify to the theatrical character of the sketch.
