“Urbanicide” is quite literally about the “violence upon the city.” This term emerges as a consequence of the rapid development of cities, consumer-driven agglomerations, stemming from the processes of globalization. Architects and ecologists are sounding the alarm as humanity struggles to keep pace with the threats posed by haphazard urbanization and the emergence of gigantic industrial complexes in various corners of the planet. Nature has its limits. This painting depicts a futuristic, beautiful landscape, yet devoid of human presence. It’s a portrayal of the complexity and the deceptive nature of beauty.
